Dr. Edward Griesinger, retired Yakima Valley veterinarian, died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was 71. He lived at 223 S. 26th Ave., Yakima.

He was born in Gaylord, Kan., and moved to Wilson Creek, Wash. when a young man and attended Washington State College and was graduated from the Veterinary College at St. Joseph, Mo. He then moved to Grandview, Wash., where he practiced veterinary medicine until he moved to Yakima in 1934. He retired two years ago.

Dr. Griesinger was a member of the first Methodist Church; Mt. Adams Masonic Lodge 227; a 32nd degree mason and member of Yakima Scottish Rite Bodies; Past Noble Grand of Grandview IOOF Lodge; past president of the Rock and Mineral Club; a member of the Yakima Veterinary Association; president of the Yakima Coop Association; and a past commander of Grandview American Legion and a member of the Yakima Post 36 American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Griesinger, Yakima; a son, Victor Griesinger, Yakima; two daughters, Mrs. Winston (Norma) Hoffman and Mrs. Lester (Joyce) Stuckrath, Yakima; two brothers, William Griesinger, Seattle; and Fred Griesinger, Big Sandy, Mont.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dr. Edward Griesinger, 71, who passed away Nov. 10th, will be held in the Chapel of the Keith & Keith Funeral Home, Saturday, November 13th at 10:30 a.m. Rev. A. C. Wischmeier, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Concluding services will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. The family suggests, if desired, memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund. Friends desiring may view prior to the service. Yakima Daily Republic on November 11, 1965
