Port Huron - "Fast Freddie" Frederick Francis Fahs went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2002.
He was born in St. Clair on Dec. 21, 1942, to the late Elmer Frederick Fahs and Mary Matilda Wetrick.
Fred was a master tattoo artist and a legend since 1972. He was a member of the National Tattoo Association and the Christian Tattoo Association.
He also served with the U. S. Coast Guard and was the recording secretary for the Laborers Local 463.
He spent his free time hunting, fishing and swimming with his grandsons.
He was involved with and did volunteer work for various charities and organizations, such as the Old Newsboy, the Boy Scouts and Feed the Children.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Charlotte; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Jo (Harold) Scheunemann and Tracy Lynn (Todd) Salazar of California; his beloved grandsons, whom he enjoyed and loved very much, Michael, Aaron, Andrew, Sam and Joey; his fathe-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Burnice Koss; his brother-in-law James Bearss; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Calvin) Kaerher and Christine (Richard) Mitchell; nephews, Calvin Kaercher III, Richard, Michael and Timothy Mitchell; niece, Janette Smith-Ward; several beloved cousins including Mike Westrick, Mikey Malane, Robin Lee and Sally Ann; as well as his aunts, uncles and many, many friends.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his beloved son,
Frederick Elmer Fahs, and dear cousin, Slim Westrick.
Pallbearers will be his beloved grandson and fishing buddier, Michael Gunn, Harold Scheunemann, Calvin Kaercher III, Mark Burns, Dickie Reynold and Rick Neely. Honorary pallbearers a d Richard Mitchell and Edward Koss.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the L. C. Friederiachs and Son Funeral Home.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Fred loved our Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart, soul and mind and is now waiting the homecoming of his beloved wife, Chalotte.
