He was a Kansas City Police Officer for 27 years, most of which had been in the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. He moved with his family to Florida in 1996. He had been seriously ill for the past 8 months and had been hospitalized since last March.
He was preceded in death by son, Sean Michael.
Survived by Mary, his wife; daughter, Tina Buchanan-Gunnell; son, John Buchanan; twin daughters, Katie and Kelly Buchanan; sister, Sherry Ramzy and grandchildren, Adam Gunnell and Shealynn McMullen.
