Army Paratrooper Clarence Libolt, youngest son of Lloyd Libolt, was killed in action on the Rhine in Germany in March, according to work received by his sister, Mrs. Myron Papke.

Clarence (Barney) came to this community when a small boy and grew to young manhood at Riverside where his father operated the store. His brother, Lester, was killed in Pearl Harbor when Japan made their sneak attack.

Mrs. Lloyd Libolt called from Salem, Oregon, after receiving the message of Clarence’s death, and she said Lloyd was in the Philippines. He joined the Sea Beas shortly after Lester was killed.
