Major, Company B, 13th Tennessee Cavalry, Union Army. He enlisted and mustered on September 23, 1863 as captain of Company B. On March 18, 1865, he was promoted to major. On September 19, 1865 as Patrick F. Dyer, he married Eliza Jane Sivey in Jefferson County, Tennessee. His remains were originally interred in the Old City Cemetery. The family may have decided to remove the remains upon the death of his wife in 1931.
