Edwin "Ed" Ashley

Edwin "Ed" Ashley a native and resident of Baton Rouge passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at the age of 88. Ed was retired from Louisiana State University with over 30 years of service and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 9am until funeral services in the chapel at 10am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ina McCartney Ashley, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clyde E. and Norma Ashley, and Bruce Ashley and friend Carol Tull, three grandchildren, Valerie Archer and husband Greg, Dustin Ashley and wife Alison, and Nicholas Ashley and wife Sarah, two great grandchildren, Ethan and Avery Archer, and a brother, Rufus Ashley. Preceded in death by parents, Edwin R. and Nellie P. Ashley, and two brothers, Fred and John Ashley. Pallbearers are Dustin Ashley, Nicholas Ashley, James McCartney, Ernest McCartney, Bobby Long, Greg Archer, and an honorary pallbearer, Ethan Archer.
