Mom was popular in school and loved to play basketball. She also loved to dance. In 1949 she married Tom Davis, the love of her life. Dad was the third son in a family of eight boys. Granny Davis never learned how to drive so it often fell on Mom to get Granny to appointments, shopping, etc. But she didn't mind. She loved Granny as much as Granny loved her.
She raised the four of us kids to work hard. She worked part time at DMV, retiring in 1988. She loved to go fishing with Dad. She also loved the fellowship of her church, Faith Assembly aka Southpointe Christian Center. She was a tireless volunteer. She could be counted on to prepare her famous potato salad for any potluck, funeral, reunion, you name it. She was known for her pickled beets and dill pickles. Though we miss her every single day, we know that she is in heaven dancing before Jesus.

Today I asked family and friends to post favorite memories about Mom. Here are just a few...
Her smile, her laugh, her zest for life. Also sitting in church between her and grandma and her always giving me Certs and then she traumatized me by calling me a "Jezebel" because I wanted red fingernails. I was 4 or 5! ...Debra (neice)
Her sense of humor, her strength, grace and faith.... Ara (neice)
Aside from all of her cooking, I think I miss watching grandma miss reeling in big halibut! I don't think I've ever seen her so excited for anything in the first five minutes and the last five minutes of her catching the big one! Will (grandson)
She was always fun to be around! Loved her pickled beets!!! Miss her a lot! Sharon (neice)
Her love for our family. I was so happy when she and Tom were on vacation and came to spend the night with me and she complimented my cooking... my cooking! She learned from the best and she was complimenting me! I will also never forget when mom was critically ill in the hospital and she would stand there rubbing mom's feet with lotion, praying for her. She was so precious and I loved her so much. Linda (cousin)
She was always thinking of others. Whether it be giving endless hours helping the church in the kitchen, or taking food to someone who was sick and visiting and praying for them, she was such a 'giver'. They didn't have to be close friends either. Kathleen (Daughter in law)
