From the book written by George Garnett Strange, "The Descendants of Seth Strange and allied families of Franklin Co GA. The source and pioneers of America."
[He wrote this book and had it in print a year before he died when living Toccoa, Stephens, Georgia]

''Being the author of these notes I am reluctant to mention anything of myself and only do so in order there be no break in the lineage record. I have no laudatory remarks or self praise to bestow upon myself. If my life and citizenship have been of any value I leave it to others to make the approval.
I was brought up by goodly parents soon after the war between the States. In those days there were no conveniences such as we have in this present age of 1955. As a boy I had the experiences of most any other farm lad. By hard work, economy and sacrifice, my parents gave their cildren every advantage they could afford to prepare them for future living. I finished grammar school grades in my home community, high school and junior college work at Hiawassee Junior College GA. Two years college courses at Cornelia Noral Institute Ga. A commercial business course Atlanta GA.
When my father died I had agreed by his request to take over the farm and care for my mother until her death 1918. I taught two years in Banks Co Public Schools. 1904 Education Co Board asked me to take over Superintendency of Co public school system which I kept for 12 years. At same time I was Farm Demonstration Agent for 5 years under direction of State Agricultural Athens GA college. I was the youngest super in many years. Also served as Deacon in Nails Creek Baptist church and Sunday School Super for 14 years. 1926 I left the farm for College Park GA and worked for State Highway Dept until retirement 1950. Since that time I have written the history of old Nails Creek Baptist Church and presently compiling notes on my family history, hoping such may be of interest and serving to the coming generations of my people.''
