Marion Capozzi Burns July 27, 2008
Marion Capozzi Burns, 80, of North Syracuse and The Villages, Florida, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 27th, with family by her side. Marion was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2003. Born in Solvay and a graduate of North High, she was the only daughter of Angelo and Damiana Capozzi. Marion was employed by Sears and Onondaga County but her most cherished capacity was that of wife, mother and caregiver to her mother who passed away in 2007 at the age of 102. Marion and Robert shared an avid interest in bowling, skiing at Labrador Mountain in the winters and golfing at Wa-Noa Golf Course in their summers. Marion was also a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed their many outings. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse and St. Timothy's Catholic Community in The Villages. She was also predeceased by her brothers Patsy, Rocky and Edward.
Marion is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Michael) Murphy of The Villages, Fl, Maribeth (Richard) MacMaster of Grapevine, Texas, and Geri-Lynn (Spurgeon) Foster of Hampton, Virginia; five grandchildren Patrick, Shaun and Erin Murphy, Keli and Kyle Foster; her brother Dr. Angelo (Louise) Capozzi of Tiburon, California; sisters-in-laws, Florence Capozzi of North Syracuse and Janet Capozzi of Canyon County, California, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9 a.m. at PIRRO & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Park Street and 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the PIRRO & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Park Street.
