Elworth " Elza" Brown was born in Eldon Washington Wapello Iowa to John Creighton Brown and Susan Bucy. He was the second of eight children born to them, and the first born son. He lived all of his life in or near Eldon. On April 14, 1878 in Davis, he was united in Marriage to Martha Mowre, and to this union, four children were born, Retta, Eddie, Clarence Elmer and Flora. He was then married to Melvina Slutts, and to this union, six children were born, Flossie, Charles, John, Samuel, Ethel and Gladys.
