Pauline Starnes Parker, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Huntersville Oaks.

Born February 12, 1922 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther Starnes and Lacie Rogers Starnes.

Polly was a receptionist and assistant to various doctors in the Mooresville area for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Bill D. Parker, and a son, Billy D. Parker; four sisters, Della S. Kennerly, Hazel S. Benfield, Margaret S. Julian, Jeanette S. Atwell; and three brothers, Marvin, Robert, and George Starnes.

Polly is survived by one son, Bob D. Parker (Louise) of Little River, SC; and one daughter, Carol Greene (John) of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Carolyn M. Parker and like-a-daughter, Sarah Parker (Kim) of Mooresville; five grandchildren, Billy D. Parker, Jr. and Chad O. Parker of Mooresville, M. Andrew Greene of Atlanta, GA, Cindy P. Kaufman of Penrose, NC, Stephanie G. Perron of Harrisburg, NC; and nine great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jake, Katie, Madison Parker, Olivia Dison, Luke and Stetson Kaufman, Carter and Stella Perron.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Broad Street United Methodist Church in Mooresville with the Rev. Mike McDonald and the Rev. Dr. Paul Childers officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:30 until 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Churchill Senior Living, Huntersville Oaks, and Hospice of Lake Norman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Carolina Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220 or Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Davidson, NC 28036.

Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Pauline 'Polly' Starnes Parker.
