Thomas Crittenden Janes, 71 years old, died last Friday night at 10 o'clock after a three month illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ira England near Pleasant Hill. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist church by Rev. D.L. Druien assisted by Rev. Burton Callice and Rev. Harold Wolgemuth, and burial was in the Union Ridge Cemetery at Spurlington. He was a native of Adair County and was born there on May 26, 1869, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Losson Janes. He moved to this county 21 years ago and had since made his home here. He made a profession of faith in Christ when 25 years of age and was united with the Antioch Methodist church at Sparksville, Adair County. He was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Hayes on October 25, 1983, she having preceeded him in death on April 23, 1923. He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Millard England of Adair County; Mrs. Ira England, Taylor county; three sons, Mauel and Noah, both of Louisville and Melvin, Taylor County; six brothers: J. H. Janes, Indianapolis; W.P. Janes, Texas; G.W. Janes, N.P. Janes and Charles of Adair County; and N.P. Janes of Missouri; on sister, Mrs. Logan Bryand, Chicago; 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Fred Janes, Harry Brandstedder, Frank Noe, Flnis England, Henry Davis and Earl Gupton.
Honorary pallbearers: R.T. Fisher, Will Bright, Murison Williams, Ben Rodgers, Sam Campbell, Eugene England
