The Rev. John N. Daly Jr.

The Rev. John N. Daly Jr., 83, Salina, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005.

The Rev. Daly was born May 27, 1922, in Cherryvale. He graduated from Pratt High School and was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1967 and St. Paul?s Seminary in Kansas City. He was ordained as a minister of the United Methodist Church in 1971. He served the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church in Solomon, Niles, Marion, Salina, Burdett, Rozell and LaCrosse, retiring in 1988. He served as the chaplain for Hospice of Salina from 1993 to 1998.

He was an active volunteer in the community and enjoyed volunteering for RSVP and Salina Presbyterian Manor. He never missed seniors golf day Thursdays at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

He married Naomi Joy Wagner on Feb. 11, 1943, in Pratt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John N. Daly Sr., and Jennie Naomi Daly; a sister, Marilyn Carr of San Antonio; and a brother, Kenneth Daly of Phoenix.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Naomi Joy, of Salina; two daughters, Kim Fair and husband Randy Duncan of Brookville and Jill Millerskow and husband Duane of Mulvane; three grandchildren, Kimberly Craft of Mulvane, John David Millerskow of Denver and Michael Millerskow and wife Stacy of Maize; and five great-grandchildren, Austin and Jordan Craft and Tarynn Gillette of Mulvane and
Madison and Maggie Millerskow of Maize.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Salina, the Rev. Troy Bowers officiating. A reception and family visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina Inc., P.O. Box 2238, Salina, KS 67401.

The body will be cremated.

Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements.
