Neil Fitzwater Boggs, 73, of Vienna, Va., and formerly of Franklin, W.Va., died Nov. 9, 2008, at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Harrisonburg, Va., and was the son of Brooke McCoy Boggs and Mary Elizabeth Fitzwater Boggs.

He was retired after working in the Washington, D.C. area for various employers including the Chrysler Corporation, the County of Fairfax, FNMA, FHLMC, and Department of Defense contractors.

He served two years in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College and West Virginia University (MBA).

Following a memorial service in Northern Virginia, a graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Kevin Hand officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
