March 5, 1752
In the name of God Amen. I Uriah Garton of the County of Spotsylvania and the Parish of St. George being very weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to the Almighty God for it do make and appoint this my last will and testament in manner of form following, viz.
First I bequeath my sole to God that gave it me and my body to be buried in the earth by my executors hereafter named. Imprimis I give and bequeath to my son Zachariah Garton all my land I hold in Lancaster County and part of my Mateponigh land the plantation whereon he now lives with 80 acres adjoining.
Item: I give and bequeath to my son Uriah Garton the plantation wheron I now liveth with 85 acres adjoining to him and his heirs forever.
Item: To my Son Elijah Garton I give and bequeath the plantation where Ephrme Knight now liveth and 85 acres adjoining to him and his heirs forever.
Item: I do hereby constitute authorize and appoint my 3 sons (viz) Zachariah Garton, Uriah Garton and Elijah Garton my executors joyntly and severally of this my last will and testament to see it executed in Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this fifth day of Mar anns 1752

At a court held for Spotsylvania Co. on Tues Aug ye 5th 1755
The said will and testament of Uriah Garton deed being exhibited and sworn to in court by Zacy. Garton and Uriah Garton 2 of the exrs therein named and was proved by the oaths of Abraham Darnot and David Darnot 2 of the witnesses thereto and Zachariah Garton eldest son and heir at law to ye said deceased appeared and consented to the proof of the said will which is ordered to be recorded.
