ENOREE - Claudia Sumner Burris, 73, of 2 Parker Road, died Nov. 15, 1997, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Cross Anchor, she was the daughter of the late Tiny Lee Sumner and Dora Lawson Sumner.

She was a graduate of Cross Anchor High School, a retired textile employee and a Baptist.

She was first married to the late Henry Lawrence Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Walter James Burris of the home; one daughter, Sandra Gayle Reep of Cowpens; one son, Charles Kenneth Brown of Charleston; one stepdaughter, Joanne Cagle of Laurens; two sisters, Maggie McDonald of Florence and Gladys Williams of Deland, Fla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Union Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Paul Moore.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, S.C. Affiliate Inc., Piedmont Region, Suite B-155, 364 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, 29302-2630; or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5053, Spartanburg, 29304.

The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
