Frances Verneil (Walker) Katerzynske passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born outside of Princeton on September 15, 1934, to Lathen Walker and Aurelia (Huber) Walker, the youngest of seven children. The family moved to Princeton in 1941, where Fran attended the Princeton schools. In April of 1954, she was wed to Bernard Katerzynske, residing in Green Lake before moving to Princeton. For many years Fran was employed at Seavecki’s in Princeton, known as “the dimestore.”

Those who knew Fran will remember her as being remarkably honest and frank in her conversations, most people saw this as a virtue, since you always knew where you stood with her. She was always a copious note taker, keeping notebooks filled with everything from celebrity birthdates to family relationships and news, current events and a diary of her phone calls and visits. She was also a skilled practitioner of the art of letter writing, enjoying nothing more than receiving a letter from relatives and responding with a detailed letter of her own. Some of her favorites were classic country music and an abiding love of the color pink.

Frances is survived by two sons, grandchildren,She is also survived by her dear sister as well as many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Lathen and Aurelia Walker; her husband, Bernard Katerzynske; sister, Jean Emmerich; 4 brothers, Sylvester, Wilbur, Walter and Dale Walker. She would want it mentioned here that she was also preceded in death by three beloved dogs, Pierre, Lady Ann and Molly, which she loved and considered part of her family as well.

A service and interment at St John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton will take place later in the spring. Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send private condolences to the family.
