Castalia
Catherine M. Hinds, 66, of Castalia, died Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
She was born July 15, 1945, in Summerhill, Pa., and was a 1963 graduate of Western Reserve High School. She was a caregiver to many families.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was an excellent baker, cookbook collector, and poetry writer. Cathy and her family enjoyed vacationing on Manitulin Insland, Ontario, Canada, and she was a member of Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sheldon and Mary (Penrod) Phillips, and one sister Alice Sommers.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16. The Rev. David Flack will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
