McLaughlin, 72, died at 1 p.m. Thursday in Woodview Regional Hospital, Tioga.
He was a retired welder and a member of Fairfield Pentecostal Church. He was a native of Natchitoches Parish.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Johnson McLaughlin of Colfax; four sons, Elbert McLaughlin of Vick, James McLaughlin of Bentley, Samuel McLaughlin of Bossier City and Thomas McLaughlin of Colfax; two daughters, Betty Rawls of Bossier City and Elouise Tingle of Lone Star, Texas; two brothers, John McLaughlin of Plaquemine and Robert McLaughlin of Shreveport; one sister, Ida Belle Campbell of Fort Worth, Texas; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 2 pm. today in the funeral home.
