HOGANSVILLE, GA -- Services for Earl Manley Gay, 69, of Hogansville, GA were Wednesday, January 27, 1993 in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Rev Dan MacMinn officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Pallbearers were David Beard, Carey Atkinson, Bubba Atkinson, Randy Slaughter, Al Cook and Henry Smith.

Mr. Gay died Monday, January 25, 1993 at his residence in Hogansville.

Mr. Gay was born December 11, 1923 in Randolph County, AL, son of the late Harvey and Ellen Veal Gay. He had lived in Hogansville for the past 10 years, having retired as a driver for Transus Freight Co. He was a former resident of West Point and served from 1953 until 1968 as a lieutenant in the West Point Police Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member and former deacon of Roper Heights Baptist Church in West Point.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Deborah Bragg of Hogansville and Mrs. Diane Betts of Powder Springs; one son, Larry E. Gay of Pine Mountain; one sister, Mrs. Dora Denney of Hogansville; one brother, Floyd Gay of LaGrange; and six grandchildren.

Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements.
