She began her teaching career in the Lautens County Public School System in Dublin, Georgia. She taught in several public school systems, including Fulton County, Crawford County, Bibb County. She spent the last 12 years of her career in the Houston County School System in Warner Robins, Georgia where she taught Business Technology at Houston County High School. As a 17 year veteran in education, she was an advisor for FBLA, the Prayer Club, the Transformers Prayer Club and the Flag Court Director. She was selected as Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 academic school year.
Christie accepted Christ during her childhood and served as an active and faithful member of the First United Christian Church in Hayneville, Georgia prior to joining the New Hope International Church in Fort Valley, Georgia to be with her husband.
In March of 2004, she married Alrenzo Blasingame. They had 1 daughter.

Services were held Friday, August 31,2012 at 11AM in the Sanctuary of New Hope International Church in Fort Valley, Georgia with Bishop Jeff Poole officiating.
