THOMAS FRANCES DROWNED
Last Sunday morning while breaking a tie jam on Brush creek, Thomas Frances was caught when the jam broke and killed by the ties or drowned. His body was badly bruised and torn and features scarcely recognizable.
Mr. Frances was considered one of the best men on the drive, and being an experienced river man was sent to break the jam in the most treacherous creek the men have to deal with.
The deceased leaves a wife and six children who depended wholly upon him for support and to add to the product provided from their small ranch he went on the drive each year besides doing other work at odd times.
Undertaker Jensen went out and brought the body here where burial took place Monday.
The mother and children have the sympathy of the entire community.
