Clyde served a mission for the LDS Church in 1940 in the Northern States. In 1943, he entered the military at the age of 24 to serve his country. He was a flight purser in the Army Air Corps and traveled all around the Pacific during the war. He moved to Camarillo in 1978 with his wife, Lois, and he retired in 1990. He was an avid table tennis player and played at the senior center in Camarillo after his retirement. He was also well known around town for using coupons. He loved traveling and was very adventurous. One of his favorite vacations was to New Zealand.
