Green B. Bennett, who states his birth as 9 April 1836, has a CSA pension on line in the GA archives virtual vault. He says he enlisted in 1862 in Randolph County, Alabama with Company I of the 44th Al. Regiment. He was transferred in 1863 to Company G of the 9th GA regt. At the surrender, in 1865, he was in the hospital and could only move about on crutches. His witness states that a tree fell on him near Richmond and after release from the hospital he was assigned light duty which was driving the ambulance. His wife, Susanna A Bennett, has a pension app on line within his paperwork and states that they married on 16 Feb. 1892 in Gwinnett County, GA and Green B died on 6 Nov 1922.
