Gray, Mr. Aubrey A. T. of Winter Park, FL. passed away on Thursday, March 13 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Allison T. Gray, Mother, Lyma Alice and brother, Professor Wallace A. Gray of Columbia University, NYC. He is survived by his wife, Mary J.; son, Capt. Thomas A. Gray of Ft. Lauderdale; and daughter Elizabeth (Beth) of New Smyrna Beach; his grandchildren; Paul, Ryan, and Sean. From a former marriage, Daughter Rebecca and her children, Kara and Conor in Hawaii, and a son Kevin, in CA. Born and raised near Alexandria, LA, where he earned his Eagle Scout badges, he also played tennis in high school and won a college tennis scholarship and was class President at Southwestern LA Institute and at Northwestern State, for 3 years. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Signal Corp, Ft. Huachuca, AZ. then 6 yrs. in Senior Research at General Dynamics, in CA. Always a leader and innovator in ground and air defense systems. In 1962, he began a long career with Martin Marietta, now Lockheed/Martin in Orlando. Some of the programs he worked on until he retired in 1994 included the Patriot Missile, and numerous Air Defense Advanced Programs. He was a known mentor and supporter to young engineers in the company. On the lighter side, someone said that he could make an adventure out of going to the 7-11.
