"The body of Hezikiah Carpenter, arrived in Spencer this morning from New York, and was placed in the Evergreen cemetery beside that of his wife, who was Mrs. Elizabeth Lott, sister of our townsmen, Mosher and Benj. Lott. Mr. Carpenter moved from Spencer about 40 years ago; his wife died some thirty years ago. He was 78 years of age. Mr. Henry Carpenter, son of the deceased, accompanied the remains to Spencer." 10/3/1895
