Walter Lee "June" Allen Jr., died Friday, March 31, 2006. He was born on October 12,1943 in Edgecombe County North Carolina.

Walter was a member of Leggett Chapel Church, where he served on The Deacon's Board.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Pettaway Allen of the home; three sons, Calvin Avent of Rocky Mount, N. C., Greg Allen of Dunbar, N.C. and Marvin Allen of Medoc, N.C.; his parents Walter Allen and Mary Lena Allen of Leggett, N.C.; three Stepsons, Roosevelt Pettaway of Wilson, N. C., Herbert Pettaway of Philadelphia, Pa. and Gary Pettaway of Tarboro, N.C.; four stepdaughters, Marie Harris of Chesapeake, Va., Mary Francis Astroph of Portsmouth, Va., Monique Ransome of Wilson, N.C. and Carlenia "Jackie" Jackson of Yorktown, Va.; two brothers, Willie Lee Bullock and Herbert Allen both of Wilson, N.C. and two sisters, Patsy Allen and Lucille Williams, both of Leggett, N. C.

Funeral service for Walter will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Leggett Chapel Church at 2:00PM, with Reverend Willie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Tarboro, N. C.
