Mrs. Sarah S. Barton died at the home of her son in New York city on Saturday night last, aged 67 years. She was born in the town of New Lisbon, this county, and was a daughter of the late James Beers of that town, and a sister-in-law of Mrs. D. W. Gilbert of this village. For a long time she was a resident of Mount Vision, but for the past few years had lived on Long Island. She had been in failing health for some time, but her final sickness lasted only about a week. She will be remembered by many of the older residents of the towns of New Lisbon and Laurens as a woman of many excellent traits of character. The remains, accompanied by the deceased's son, Floyd Barton, by the daughter, Mrs. Belle Theodore Salt and two children, arrived here on the Monday evening train for interment in Lakewood. A short service was held at Undertaker VanDewerker's rooms Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
