Leland Bailey

WALTON - Leland D. Bailey, 78, of Walton, died Tuesday, March 20, 1990, in Oxford.

He was born Sept. 2, 1911, in the town of Gilboa, the son of Robert and Catherine (Cunningham) Bailey. He married Margaret Jackson, who survives, on Sept 7, 1963, in the town of Walton.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired butcher at Pamet, Bloomville. Also a retired Walton fireman, he was a member of the Walton Presbyterian Church and Truman C. Toby American Legion Post 32, Walton.

Surviving besides his wife, are two stepsons, Merton and Martin Gladstone, both of Walton; and a niece.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 1990, in Lyon Bros.-Way Chapel, Walton, with the Rev. Willem Bodisco Massink, pastor of the Walton Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be later in Walton Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday at their convenience. The family will be in attendance 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
