Ruth was the daughter of Harold P Langston (born in Arkansas) and Goldia Mae Snyder (born in Ohio). She lived in California her whole life, moving to Humboldt County in 1940. In 1948 she met and married Floyd Joseph Battey and they settled in Fernbridge. She died early Sunday morning in Humboldt County Hospital after having been ill for two days. Cause of death is listed as Phenobarbital Poisoning (Suicide).
Her brother, Harold Daniel Langston proceeded her in death by 1 week. He also committed Suicide (by a gunshot to the head). Her Father also proceeded her in death. She had two other brothers and four sisters; Lewis & Leonard Langston, Mrs Alice Egbert, Mrs Kathryn Egbert, & Mrs Mary Street all of Maple Creak, and Miss Joy Marie Langston who resided in Fernbridge with their mother.
