81-year-old Carmi resident, Mary Jo Baker died Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She worked as a noon supervisor at the Carmi Middle School as well as at the Department of Motor Vehicles for many years. She had also served as a Precinct Committeeman and a Township Trustee for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Lee Carrell, Sr., Joe Allen Carrell and Jack E. Baker, of Carmi; two daughters, Sherry Jeanne King of Carmi and Gaye Browning of Albion; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Arthur and Alice Schmittler and Betty Schmittler; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy Jeffers and Debbie and Skip Turnbull; two brothers-in-law, Don Baker of Carmi and Charles York of Springerton; a sister-in-law, Judy Warmack of Grayville and several grandchildren.

Services for Mary Jo Baker will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in North Maple Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Friday evening, Feb. 10 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi.
