Mr. Dyer was born and grew to manhood in Woodsfield. He was married to Miss Mattie Tilford and to their union one son was born, and until about twenty years ago when they moved to Cuyahoga Falls to be nearer their son they made their home in Woodsfield.
Mrs. Dyer preceded her husband in death several years ago.

When a young man Mr. Dyer learned the printing trade, being employed on Woodsfield papers including The Spirit or Democracy and The Sentinel, and few employes were ever more faithful or dependable. Though retiring in disposition he made friends of those with whom he came in contact and is kindly remembered by many of our older citizens.
Mr. Dyer was a life-long member of the M. E. Church, faithful and regular in attendance as long as health permitted.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon followed by interment in the Cuyahoga Falls cemetery.
