A true frontiersman. Ebenezer Briggs was first postmaster at Morganfield, Ky, then a dealer in furs out to Illinois, then traveled to West coast in company with John Jacob Astor, possibly served in Black Hawk War. At age 60, Overseer & Coroner in Ralls Co. Mo, then aged 80, still adventurous, treked out to California at tail end of the Gold Rush and died there in 1851.

1st wife was Phoebe Gilkey, married 9 May 1793 in Kentucky

2nd wife was Hannah Beasley, married 2 Oct 1845 in Missouri

Looking for their burial site 2017.
