Our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Douglas David Chavez of Riverton, Utah passed away peacefully on Monday morning, March 12, 2001 in Aurora, CO at his Aunt and Uncle Raul and Luanne Chavez's home. He was born September 23, 1970 to David and Lydia Chavez of Riverton, Utah.

He graduated from Bingham High in 1989 and went on to graduate from Utah State University in June of 1997 with a B.S. in Mathematics obtaining his MCP, MCP+I, and MCSE. Doug was employed by m-Wired a subsidiary of Montgomery Watson, of Broomfield, Colorado as an Associate System Engineer.

He married his high school sweetheart Lisa Bailey June 11, 1994. With their love they had their daughter McKenzie, 5 years old and their son Dylan Douglas 16 months.
Doug is survived by his wife; children; grandmothers, Katherine Chavez and Maragrita Villalobos; sister Joanna (Eric) Timothy; aunts and uncles, Sarah and Larry Nifong, Walkerton, IN.; Roger and Gail Chavez, Henderson, NV; Rebecca and Martin Houck, Salt Lake City, UT; Rachel and Frank Rubalcava, Midvale, UT; Delia and Orley Bills, Sandy, UT; and Rosemary and Paul Tafoya, West Jordan, UT. He is also survived by; father and mother-in-law, Alan and Claudia Bailey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Traci Chamberlain, Amy Bailey, Krista Bailey, Ashley Bailey and Scott Bailey. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carlos Chavez and Juan Villalobos.

A viewing will be held Friday, March 16, 2001, 6-8 p.m. at the Tithing Hill Ward, 1225 West 12400 South, Riverton and a viewing will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001 from 9-10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan followed by the Mass of the Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery/Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers a trust account has been established for his children C/O Mountain America Credit Union, 1962 West 12600 South, Riverton, UT 84065.
