Ernest "Tom" Thomas, Kaufman resident, died in a Terrell hospital October 19, 1994. He was born in Kaufman County on October 17, 1935, and lived his entire life in this area. He owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station in Kaufman for many years and he also owned and operated Tom's Auto in Kaufman. He retired from L&L Investments earlier this year due to his failing health. He was married to first wife, Joyce Thomas, and second wife, Patsy Patton Thomas in Kaufman on April 12, 1975, and was a member of the Kaufman Church of Christ. Survivors included his wife, Patsy Thomas of Kaufman, his daughter, Dixie Thomas Valentine and her husband, Brian, of Mesquite; his son, Ricky Don Thomas of Kaufman; grandchildren, Dustin Brian Valentine and Thomas Cody Valentine of Mesquite; his brother, Earl Thomas, Jr., of Center Ridge, Arkansas; and sister, Norma Thomas Weldon of Lewisville; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Services were held at the Anderson Clayton Brothers Chapel in Kaufman at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 1994, with Brother D. G. Council and Brother Al Prier officiating. Interment followed at Kaufman Cemetery.
