Maria Cox, with her parents and siblings, came to America from County Longford, Ireland. The lived for a while on the east coast, but later settled in Graceville, Minnesota. She married Joseph Coyne. They farmed near White Earth for nine years, lived for a while in Morris, and then farmed land east of Graceville in the northeast quarter of section 6 and the northwest quarter of section 5 in Moonshine Township. They eventually moved to Graceville where Joe had a shoe repair shop. Maria enjoyed her Irish heritage. For several years she was Graceville's last living native of Ireland.
