daughter of Judge Alexander P Herrington and Lucy Lewis

there is a monument erected in her memory in Albany due to her service as a nurse in the Civil War

Abigail died of a reaction to a blood transfusion. Apparently, due to the lack of knowledge about transfusions, she was administered lamb's blood (info from Louise Tompkins Wynn-book Jeremiah Arline of Nansemond Co., Virginia)
