Wearne B. "Bud" Cook Sr., 63, of Cooperstown, RD1, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in the Oil City Area Health Center.
Mr. Cook was born in Seneca Aug. 12, 1920, a son of late George and Ethel Luce Cook.
He was married to the former Mary Louise Slater on Oct. 28, 1942. She survives.
Mr. Cook lived most of his life in the Oil City and Titusville area.
For over 20 years he was employed by Emauneles Produce Co. in Oil City then worked as a mechanic for the Superior Bus Co. and the Northwest Bus Co. of Titusville. He served in the US Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife he is survived by nine children; three sisters; three brothers; 17 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, three sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends at the Jonathan H. Hutchinson Funeral Home in Oil City from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A memorial service will be held there on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. W. Dale Rhome, pastor of the Willow Street Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery.

COOK -- Friends of Wearne B. Cook may call at the Jonathan H. Hutchinson Funeral Home in Oil City from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and attend a memorial service there at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
