Obituary

Ofc. Adrian “Curtis” Arellano, 39, left us too soon on March 18, 2015. While we will miss him deeply, we are comforted in knowing that the time he spent with us was measured in quality, not quantity. Adrian proudly graduated from Socorro High School in 1995 and has proudly served with the El Paso Police Department for the last 10 years. He was a steadfast and dependable friend to all who knew him and his commitment to serving as a law enforcement officer was unwavering. Those who knew him learned to respect and appreciate his straight-forward, blunt approach. You didn’t have to guess what he was thinking; he was very honest and forthright. Adrian was a man of strong convictions. Once you got through the tough-guy exterior, you’d experience his tremendous warmth and his giving nature. He was an amazing and devoted husband and a dad whose every move was done in order to be an example to his son. Adrian is survived by his wife of 13 years, Margaret; son, Adrian Jr.; parents, Juan Manuel & Estela Arellano; brothers, Juan Carlos and Steven “Scubba” & wife, Ginesa Snelling; sister, Mayra; nephews, Mario and Aaron; niece, Alicia; grandparents, Manuel Arellano and Arcadia Huerta. Adrian’s presence will also be missed by brother-in-law Jerry Delgado & wife Patricia; brother-in-law Fidel Rivera Jr.; and mother-in-law Romelia Rivera. Visitation will take place Monday, March 23, 2015 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home with rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Adrian Arellano Jr., Aaron Jacob Delgado, Juan Carlos Arellano, Steven Arellano, Jerry Delgado, Juan Manuel Arellano, Jorge Alvarado, Fidel Rivera Jr. Adrian, your service to us all is celebrated...especially by your family and brothers and sisters in blue.
