He was born in Franklin County on April 21, 1954, and was the son of the late William Bill and Frances Elizabeth Patten Carey. He was a school bus driver and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Carey was preceded in death by brothers, James Edward Carey and William Howard Carey Jr.
Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Brenda Carey, Commerce; and a niece, Kendra Carey, Athens.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 22, at the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Albert Vaughn officiating.
