CHESTER W. CLARK, 92 ROCKFORD - Chester W. Clark, 92, of Rockford went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Born Jan. 29, 1920, in Nebraska to James and Mary (Williams) Clark. He married Shirley Dinkins on June 1, 1949; they shared 63 beautiful years together. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in England, then worked as an assembler at Barber-Colman. Chester was an active member of First Assembly of God in Rockford for 62 years, truly a loyal servant. He is regarded as a loving, faithful and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by wife of 63 years, Shirley; daughter, Penny (Shane) Fox; sister, Vonna Strong; and grandchild, Haley. Predeceased by parents; brother, William Clark; and sisters Gwendolyn Keim and Katherine Beilfuss. Services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Rockford First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Road, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Burial immediately after the service will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park.
