Margaret was the daughter of J.A. and Pallie (Williamson) Buckingham. She married Ray S. Chastain on December 31, 1936 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1997. Margaret married L.B. "Blue" Bellah on June 14, 2002 in Graham.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and YAHA Sunday School Class.

Survivors at time of death included her husband, L.B. "Blue" Bellah of Graham and two daughters, Margie Chastain of Breckenridge, Texas and Barbara Sullivan of Cold Spring, Texas.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
