Raised in Bluefield, WV, she graduated from Beaver High School in 1928 and in the 1930s married Kurt Kallenburger and lived in Washington, DC thru the WWII years. After returning to Bluefield she married Horace Pedigo and primarily lived near Martinsville, VA though there was considerable travel due to Horace's work as an insurance adjuster. Hazel worked as a secretary then retired with Horace to Harrison, Arkansas in the mid 1960s. Remaining active into her 80s, Hazel lived her final years in a nursing facility.
