Patrick was born in the Parish of Backs spelt on the tombstone as Bax, County Mayo to Patrick and Anne (Loftus) Browne. He was baptized on September 18, 1860. I suspect his brother John supplied the dates for the tombstone which are not correct according to the Backs baptism records. John always seemed to be off by two years. Patrick was the second son to be named after his father. The first Patrick was born in 1851 according to baptismal records. I assume that he died as there is no family record of him and that another son born after him was given the same name.
His wife Sarah Lasarge was born in Canada and they met at a cousins house in Nebraska. They had seven children. Patrick died of Miners Consumption.
