Ruby Viola Ash, age 93, of Independence, WV, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at her residence.

Ruby was born on April 22, 1914 in Engleside, WV, a daughter to the late Charles Franklin and Leatha Alberta (Knotts) Triplett.

Ruby worked for several years for the Arthurdale Shirt Company and Silman Manufacturing. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gladesville, a member of the Women's Mission and a member of the Newburg Senior Citizens.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca J. Riley; one sister, Ruth Gertrude Hartwig ; one granddaughter, Carol Ann Nicholson; three great grandchildren and spouses, Frederick Neal Shaffer, II, Kristoffer Allen and Michelle Nicholson, Amanda Lynn Nicholson and Clayton Bucklew; three great-great grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Bucklew, Isabella Lou Ann Nicholson, Ruby Jean Nicholson; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Sam Virgil Ash, January, 1992; two brothers, Joseph Franklin Triplett and Evert Carl Triplett; four sisters, Ethel Evelyn Braham, Mabel Virginia Leggett, Betty Lou Funk and Edna Pearl Francis; one son-in-law, Robert R. Riley.

Friends may call the Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home – Valley Chapel, Rt. 7 Reedsville, on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery.
