TRINIDAD, Colo.--Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church here for the Rev. John Paul "Jack" Cull, S. J., 60, Segundo, Colo., a former Topekan, who died Thursday in a hospital here. He died about 12 hours after he was injured critically Wednesday in a traffic accident near Weston, Colo.
Father Cull, who was pastor of St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Segundo and served several smaller parishes in nearby rural comunities, was injured when his car left the road while returning to Segundo from a rural mission.
While in Topeka, he lived at 317 Franklin and attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and was graduated from Hayden High School. He formerly was a member of Holy Name Parish in Topeka.
He was born Jan. 31, 1916, at Phoenix, the son of Andrew and Magdalen Cull, and spent his childhood in Topeka. He was ordained in June, 1948.
He spent about 20 years in missionary work in Belize, British Honduras, and served smaller parishes at Stan Creek, Punta Gorda and San Antonio, British Honduras, as well as parishes in Belize. He had lived in Colorado the past five years.
Survivors include a brother, Francis Cull, California City, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Louise Anzalone, St. Louis.
Burial will be in Trinidad Catholic Cemetery as Trinidad, Colo.
Father Cull will lie in state from 2 to 7 p. m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Trinidad, Colo., where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.Sunday, Trinidad Mortuary at Trinidad, Colo. is in charge of arrangements.
