ROCK ISLAND - Sister Kathleen Aubry, OSB, 86, of St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island, died Thursday November 1, 2012, at the Monastery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of the St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Monastery, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Monastery, 2200 88th Avenue West, Rock Island, IL 61201.

Kathleen Aubry was born on March 6, 1926, in Moline, the daughter of William James and Mary Ellen (McKinney) Aubry. She attended Sacred Heart School and St. Mary's Elementary School, Moline, St. Mary's High School, Moline, graduated from St. Scholastica College, Atchison, Kan., with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, and graduated from Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind., with a master's degree in mathematics.

Sister Kathleen Aubry entered the Benedictine community on September 8, 1945, and made her first profession as a Benedictine Sister on July 11, 1947. Sister Kathleen taught in Illinois schools at St. Peter and Paul, Nauvoo; St. Roch's, LaSalle; St. Boniface, Peoria; St. Mary's Academy as a Teacher, Resident Assistant and Dean of Residence, Nauvoo; and Bergan High School, Peoria. Sister served as Subprioress and Juniorate Director at St. Mary Monastery.

She is survived by her Benedictine Sisters and nieces and nephews.

Sister Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents,two brothers, Richard and William, and one sister, Virginia Ryan.
