MONTEREY - Elizabeth Price McCoy, 89, of Monterey, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Pendleton Manor.
She was born July 28, 1922, at Neodesha, Kansas, a daughter of the late Dr. George Price and Mabel Hille (Jones) McCoy.
Miss McCoy was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the United Methodist Women and faithfully attended the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Monterey High School and Longwood College. A teacher, Miss McCoy retired from the Highland County Public School system. She was a member of the United Daughter of the Confederacy, Monterey Garden Club and the Bath-Highland Retired Teachers Association. She was a potter, crafter of jewelry and enjoyed time spent reading.
Miss McCoy is survived by her sister, Mary Hille McCoy of Monterey.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Monterey United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clayton Payne officiating.
Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Mack Sterrett, George Wilson, Kirk Billingsley, Jay Garber, Jim Jacenich, Larry Hough and John Baker.
Honorary pallbearers will be United Methodist Women members.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at Monterey United Methodist Church.
