Alvin C Bock, 85, formerly of 105 E. First St., Galesburg, died at 8:42 am Sunday, 23 July 2006, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. He was born 7 Dec 1920 in Uniontown, the son of Alvin S and Lillian M (Allen) Bock.

He married Phyllis L Runyon on 17 July 1940 in Burlington, Iowa. She died 1 May 1997.

Surviving are a daughter, Stella (and John Friend) Durdle, Galesburg; two sons: Harry Bock, Galesburg, and Gerald Bock, Peoria; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and two brothers.

He worked at Gale Products and OMC in Galesburg as a tool-and-die maker for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980.
