Ola Cundiff Blankenship, ("Miss B"), 88, of Roanoke, died at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, June 8, 1999 from complications following surgery. She was an employee of the former Evans Drug Store for many years, and was a member of Hollins Road Baptist Church. Born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Susan and William Giles Cundiff, she was predeceased by her husband, Otie Blankenship. Surviving are her sons, William Edgar Blankenship and wife Mildred, of Clovis, New Mexico, Ervin E. Blankenship and wife Frances, of Vinton; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Perdue, Rocky Mount, Meem Brown, Troutville and a special sister-in-law, Maggie Cundiff. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, 1999 at Simpson-Tharp Funeral Chapel, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Mark Washington. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
